I managed to install Canola in 2008HE and it is working okay. Its relatively easy - proceed as in normal HE install, but some packages will complain for deps you can't find. You only will need to force install libedbus0 from the 2006 repo. The other packages with missing libs you can replace with the ones in the chinook repo and they will install fine.

Bundyo, I've got Canola 2 installed ok in 2008he (using the 2007he method on the canola site), but it still won't run. Output in xterm has some depreciated dbus complaints, then finally says "ValueError: No plugin found with filter 'SystemProperties'". Do you have any suggestions, or even better, could you write a quick step-by-step of how you got canola2 working in 2008he please? It would be much appreciated!

Bundyo, could you please tell what repos you have on? I've got gregale, gregale extras, and chinook extras and I get...

Code:
-:~# apt-get install canola2
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
canola2: Depends: python2.5-terra (>= 0.1.7-maemo2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: canolad (>= 0.1.3-maemo5) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: canola-thumbnailer but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
I went through before and actually got it to install using SDK and other stuff, but it gave me an unsupported instruction error on the command line and nothing else. I reflashed and am trying again... Please help. It would be much appreciated

Thanks for even taking the time to reply! I understand and I love your android work (it will be on my 770 eventually). Please don't go through too much hassle, I'd rather have android than Canola, anyway

Very much appreciated!
