it's needed for compiling, i have linked it statically into the binary for now (this lib is available from net or from the same dir as xvkbd, see first post)

Who has working xvkbd without libXaw3d? KotCzarny's xvkbd required the library on my device.
Install http://pupnik.de/libXaw3d.tgz only if xvkbd complains about missing libXaw3d libraries.

quick tip, have you tried 'quick modifiers'? for example if you want ctrl-c just tap c and while holding, move to the left (as if you wanted to drag key to the left). move down for alt-c and up for shift-c

Okay, so I'm a little behind the times and don't understand all too much with getting things running without really good directions.
Is there any way you could possibly dummy this down to school grade level on how to install your keyboard?
I'm looking at what you're saying, I'm reading it, I'm trying to understand it, but it all appears to be written in Sputnik to me.
I have no idea on half the things you're instructing to do.
Sorry.
But yeah, any chance for a better walkthrough on how to install this bad puppy?

use gainroot or even better ssh as root to the device, then copy and paste those lines those are actual commands that will download, unpack and make it executable, then you should have it's icon in app-menu >> others (hopefully)

just run: apt-get install wget

i don't know why you don't have wget in repos.. it's in the main pool.. are your repositories ok? anyway try this one:
