Ummm, I got it working. The only thing I did differently is that I pressed the "send" -button little bit longer instead of a fast tap, like on J1. Feels weird, but I guess this is how it should work. But thanks anyway!

There are a number of patches to make SMS send on a long press (example, another) to prevent accidental sending. Are you sure you don't have one of them installed?

Oh, crap! You're right. I was using a patch called "Remove white background from message cover" or something like that on J1. But it had been embedded to the package you linked (Settings for messages layout), so I installed that for OPX. But I forgot to check what else it offers beside of removing the ugly white backround. So thank you!

One more question. Is it possible to get autocomplete working on OPX? I found some posts about it in XDA, but no proper answer.
Code:
[root@Sailfish nemo]# pkcon install jolla-xt9
Command failed: This tool could not find any available package: could not find jolla-xt9
I mean, are those packages removed completely, or is it just me and my repos?
Code:
[root@Sailfish nemo]# ssu lr

I think that Jolla has closed this backdoor for us getting xt9 on ported devices. I have seen it on N4 and OPX. So, its time to get the autocompletion developed in an open source manner. There was a thread at TJC on that and one developer working on it, as far as I remember.

Keyboard that comes with tIDE has some level autocompletion(atm. supports qml, python and javascript). I used dolphin core as base of tIDE keyboard so that could be usefull

I guess this is a bit fishy, but I copied those jolla-xt9 and jolla-xt9-cp packages from my J1 to OPX and got the autocomplete working. Just wanted to try and find out if it works or not.

Where are those files located?

I don't think I'd feel too guilty about that. What's really curious is why Jolla would perhaps deliberately block access to these packages for ported devices, particularly just after giving the same devices access to the store and its goodies. It's kind of a tease, IMO.

/usr/share/maliit/plugins/com/jolla/
on devices which have access you can do this in terminal and you will get rpm packages
Code:
$ pkcon download /home/nemo jolla-xt9
$ pkcon download /home/nemo jolla-xt9-cp
