Edit: Here it is http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=90981
I suggested a mandatory monitoring&testframe wrapper around every app in *testing, which would check the app under test for excessive resource usage, anormal aborts etc. And after quiting the app-under-test, the testframe kicks in and asks the user to rate/comment the app regarding criteria relevant for QA, and then asks user for permission to directly send this report to maemo.org, as an alternative to manual voluntary voting for apps in testing.

Seems once there was a similar infra, called 'nitro' IIRC.

cheers

Of course not! It was an attempt to get back on topic. I have now edited my post to make it clearer.

mc 1:4.8.14-0maemo1 is now in extras, thanks to all the testers!

4.8.14 might be the last upstream version that will work unmodified with Maemo5.

From the changelog of 4.8.15:
https://www.midnight-commander.org/wiki/NEWS-4.8.15
Minimal version of GLib is 2.26.0

Maemo5 has GLib 2.20.3.

It has dependency to a package in the SDK repo http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...-1.maemo1+0m5/

I guess it was available in Nokia repos, but now those are gone, I am not sure how to tackle that. Maybe copying packages from SDK repo to CSSU repo is the way. Unfortunately CSSU maintainer is no longer active, but that's another story.

It seems to me it is already in CSSU.

Sorry, my mistake, SSU not CSSU. Doesn't the >=PR1.2 mean that it was included in the PR1.2 update?

FWIW, I see the file here:
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fre...ree/n/ncurses/
libncursesw5_5.7+20081213-1.maemo1+0m5_armel.deb

Can't update or reinstall MC due to dependency failure (Application packages missing: libncursesw5 (>=5.7+20081213-1.maemo1+0m5)

The above .deb can't install: Incompatible application package.

My device is on SSU 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo11+thumb0 and I am very pleased with it.

"Unfortunately CSSU maintainer is no longer active, but that's another story."

Do I remember that it was Merlin?

Sorry to hear that.
