"There are no back doors or anything third parties could use for monitoring your activity."

Take a phone, leave out the GSM modem and there you go...

Given the hardware specs I recon that equipped with keyboard and mouse this device , in theory, could run full desktop Linux programs pretty fast, making it a competitor for the Windows desktop OS tablets, which in my opinion are much more interesting than Android tablets because of their capability to run virtually every desktop software.

Now if only Jolla was to start a similar crowd funding for a superior slider phone...
Are they out of OEM's that could realize such hardware?

Hope they get enough customers for this thing. The tablet market is already quite competitive so good luck to them.

Really disappointed it wasn't a new phone though, or paid apps in appstore so we might get some decent native ones.

Heh,

Had to chip in. It seems the crowdsourcing is doing great. Good timing Jolla, I was just about to order Nexus 9...

Well, thats what that means. SailFishOS 2.0 is with 13K bug fixes (so far), thats why there is versioning numbering.
This will be a major update.
Well, wasnt this sarcasm "Personally I'd prefer them to actually finish Sailfish OS 1.0!"

“Jolla seeks to revive Nokia platform.”
Where did they take this quote from? Seems a little brave to use someone elses name on a product page like that. Especially since Nokia presented their own tablet yesterday,
