The media player pre-installed in the N800 doesn’t play movies smoothly, so I downloaded MPlayer, it plays better but still not as smooth as it should be, plus there’s no control buttons that you can fast forward or pause. I wonder if I can get anything else to play movies smoothly on the N800?

you need to have the movies at a certain bit rate and size.

Use searchto find the threads. Use Media Converter to made perfect videos. There are a lot of good threads on video encoding.
BTW, Google search on this site works better (in the WIKI is a link to a Google search set up to search ITT).
