I don't know anything about writing code, but it does indeed sounds like something that would take long. Everything that can have us wazapp again sooner, would seem very welcome to me.
god i'm an addict aren't I...
I'm sure the devs want to whatsapp again just as much as most of us.

Don't panic people, Scorpius alone did that in some days, you have here some great developers that could take advantage of his code. That's some of the great things of libre (free as in freedom in spanish) software. Be patient, and meanwhile take a beer (or 17) with your friends
