Given some responses in this thread, that needs to happen since that's incontestably more important to some folks than the OS mentioned in the current URL or the past name that included only the term "tablet".

Qt will survive as long as KDE has a significant user base. Nokia will survive as either a division or puppet of M$. But RIM is already toast, another Palm.

That doesn't sound right to me.....
First he's saying not MeeGo based, but then he goes on to describe it as MeeGo based:
"OpenSUSE based + QT on top"
All the hints/rumours we've had, have pointed towards a stripped-down cousin of M-H.
It just sounds like some random on the internetz venting his rage.

Good point. I forgot Qt governance has been switched to the community already. Good thing.

Um, maybe because the N900 come before (as) they started all their Qt retooling efforts.
They weren't reinventing the wheel with Meltemi, thankfully they didn't need to, it was heavily based around work they'd done for Qt/Harmattan.

No, MeeGo-Hatmattan/Qt wasn't for about 1yr before he arrived, actually.

I can report that Ukraine vs France 0-0. Great game so far no shoots on goal and no nokia commercial what so ever. Samsung is everywhere.

Sure, just saying, I guess they started meltemi around feb. 2011, so having the first phones ready in 1Q 2013 is again 2 years.
I know software dev. takes time, but still...

@abill_uk

Its difficult to believe that things were going so bad, I mean the N9 is a compelling product after all. Also besides selling the company to MS they could have tried Android, its not that shareholders are gonna get much for their money now, is it?

ok, back to football

He's harmless, means well, and always "amusing" to read his posts...

Assuming we can even take that person as a real dev...
To have it delivered by then is not bad at all in the scheme of things.
WP7x was almost covering the top of the low end, & was probably set to go a bit lower.
And Sonic Touch was starting to cover the bottom end very nicely.
The rumours were pointing to 1st announcement for Meltemi in Q4, so Q1 may make sense.
