So you did use widgets. You can't deny the usefulness of widgets.

For contacts on the N9, I would be happy with the ability to create contact icons just like bookmark icons to websites. Especially when we know for a fact that folders is coming with PR1.2, contact shortcut icons would be really handy to have and will be easy to manage.

I can deny the usefulness of widgets. For my use.

I rarely used them. If I wanted to contact someone I never used those widgets, they were mostly there just for aesthetic purposes. They tied my homescreen in at times.

Id usually just launch conversations, iirc.

But I wont deny that some people might have a use for widgets that doesnt fall under my general area of use

I like your contacts->apps idea though! But I have favourite contacts in the phonebook, so not sure if it would be any faster or more useful, really.

A couple more changes I noticed in PR1.1:

Lockscreen now shows song title and artist information when music is playing:

EDIT: I didn't notice the playback controls at first. Nice feature.

I need new glasses.

Now playing screen in the music player now has a 'Set as ringtone' option:

Another thing I have noticed is that, although the menu theming has changed in Qt Components, the stock applications (written using MeeGo Touch Framework) still use the old theming, so their menus are silver and white even when the rest of the application uses a dark theme.
