I've got a few grand of med apps that I still use with Garnet.

Maybe that's why I have a hard time letting go.

Just "replaced" my N800 with a SD Boot Nook Color (o/c @1200)

Sadly, the N800 will have to be sacrificed to the eBay gods, along with an old school Handspring Visor Edge (been in a box in the back of a closet while I looked for the power adapter).

While the NC is not as much fun to tinker under the hood as the N800, It seems a bit less frustrating in day to day use....

I'll still be around in the competitors section 'till the Powers that Be, shut us down....

Just gave up my N810 for an Android phone.

The N810 had been not-so-slowly dying over the last 8 months.

I'd been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Player series, but it took too long coming to North America. I ended up getting a Galaxy Ace and use it mostly like a wifi tablet, though it also makes calls and does the whole SMS thing (no data plan).

Funny enough, Sony was demoing a Android music player prototype at IFA last weekend. Not sure if it will ever turn into a product. And i still have and use my N800, but the cpu limitations are showing, even with opera mobile.

Yes, batteries have a natural lifespan of only a few years, unfortunately. You would need to find a newly manufactured battery to fit your device to get a better life - do they still make them?

I still use my N810 around the house occasionally. chucked tear on it which give a more N900-like browsing experience with the kinetic scrolling.

My N800 is currently acting as a ip webcam with motion on it, permanently plugged into a charger, as the battery does not last very long at all.
