If you invested heavily in Nokia stock, you'd have a small fortune granted you started with a bigger fortune.

Praise amongst geeks for the oddest things like bad business decisions or trying to appease this moving target called "geek cred" is a waste.

I don't applause Apple for herding sheep. I won't applause FOSS failed attempts for attempting to herd cats.

Bummer
He refuses to think differently.

And I'm going to say this much. Jobs changed how Nokia and a lot of other folks do business. Out with the old, in with the new - he did it his way. One man, 35 years of innovation on his own path basically.

Nokia? They couldn't adapt, their decisions around Maemo created the current situation around MeeGo and now they decided to bring in a man that's been at one company right before they were absorbed by an even bigger company - Macromedia got bought out by Adobe.

Stifling open source, not finding a clearer path, ****ing up the lead they had with the 770 and losing as much share as they have since 2007. If you were a shareholder, I'd call the Nokia board of directors evil, if not just stupid.
Everytime I think of Nokia's executives, I picture this scene:

Substitute "Indians" with "geeks" and the paddles with N9's. :P The Casino deal is the deal with Microsoft and you can probably guess who the Mayor would be at Nokia.

I didn't see anyone praising Nokia here, so what is your post about again?

Benny was spot on. The man singlehandedly changed the industry to a more consumer hostile environment without the consumers knowing about it and even praising him for it while stifling any real attempt for innovation.
That is evil in a James Bond kind of a way. I don't see why i'd have to praise someone who found a really easy, dirty way to make money, drug dealers do that too, you now
.
Alas, only small part of the guilt is his to bare. Humanity has turned in to a lazy, media, consuming slob, the time was right.
If it wasn't jobs it would've been some other clever fella.

[to Elop:]
Don't laugh with Balmer, you hyena!
The truth is we really abhor you.
From Maemo tablets,
To its phone existence.
You broke Nokia's promise
Of open subsistence.
