My nokia N900 screen just went dead. phone is on..but black screen.
it does come on from time to time however...

I"m wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
and if I can't get it back..is there a way for me to tranfer my contacts to the sim card?? I want to be able to retreive my contacts or export to a new phone.

Have you tried taking out the battery and putting it back in? If you're unsuccessful after doing that, try synching the phone with your PC in PC Suite mode get your contact information.

Screen going live from time to time may mean it's ribbon cable connector issue.

yes I have tried taking battery in and out..not relation.

so If I connect to my pc..how can I retrieve my contacts??

the screen not only goes black but before it does that..there is all different colors in different patterns..then if I hit the on off button or I open and close the keyboard it dies..
