mv /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/ideal.ORIG /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/ideal
apt-get install --reinstall dbus-scripts

i use hildon-portriat with my transitions.ini
i think your problem is using a notepad for editing it
after you edit any script with notepad (from windows)
the script corrupts
because notepad uses another kind of unicodes (or something else)
BTW what are the options you have replaced ?
if you want to edit the file use wordpad (on windows)
leafpad,nano,vi (on linuxx)

DO NOT USE NOTEPAD!
Use Notepad++ or vim or ANYTHING!

thanks vi and karam, i didnt know that notepad(PC) changes config transitions.ini and make it unparsable, its just easier comparing them side by side to know whats the difference, cause i like how speedy my n900 with karams transitions.

i have updated the Battery Patch
there should be no problems now
BUT I NEED SOME ONE TO TEST AND REPORT THAT NOTHING IS WRONG
because i have released this update but didn't check it on my N900 yet
