The UI is very slick indeed and really feels like it's the camera that was supposed to be. It appears to load and work at least as fast as the stock one but with more funtionality. Thank you Nicolai and the camera team.

I have a couple of questions...

The camera seems to "see" the scene with a slightly blue-green tinge. This as the case with the stock camera, before installing the CSSU.
Q. Is it just my device, or is this unanimous? Is there a feature of the CSSU camera (planned or current) that would help with this? (I like the colour functions (sepia etc.) but quite what I mean).

Quite often I'd like to take photos at night or in very low light. I use stationary objects to rest the camera/phone on so keeping it steady is a given.
Q. Is there a feature (current or planned) to alter or specify the virtual shutter speed? My ideal would be to allow for arbitrary amount of time and/or have a 'B' setting to open/close the shutter on press/release.

Hi ahmedamaj,
I can not reproduce this. I made 50 shots yesterday on my
way home. And all worked.
Do you have the latest version from CSSU?
Do you have any other camera apps?
Can you describe in more detail what you did
when this happens (maybe you changed the
camera-settings or you recorded a video before).

Since camera-ui(2) is part of CSSU, maybe there are better chances?
Hi MikeCC
I can fix this in the gst-plugins packages. It works for
me but I hadn't time for more test. If you like I can send
you the modified package and you can test it.

I hate this blinking. Especially in the stock camera-ui, if it
isn't in fullscreen mode, you will see two icons (camera-ui
and statusbar) blinking at two different rates.

I will look at this. For me it works, but I already made some
code changes, so my version isn't the one from CSSU
at the moment.

No logfile, but if you have syslogd installed there should
be some debug messages in /var/log/syslog.
Or start the camera-ui from the commandline
/usr/bin/camera-ui

Thank you for your suggestions
(and for your donation!)

Yes, but please use the updated version (see first post).
Make sure the stock camera-ui isn't running in the background:
(as root) dsmetook -k /usr/bin/camera-ui
remove camera-ui link
rm /usr/bin/camera-ui
rename camera-ui2
mv /usr/bin/camera-ui2 /usr/bin/camera-ui

Test if this works (start camera-ui with the camera-ui icon)
Test if your device get into a reboot loop. If so you did
something wrong. (search this thread on how to get out
of the reboot loop (use r&d-mode to disable watchdog))

Is there a way to implement or a script, to take photos with proximity senzor, headphone button or bluetoth headset button, for sharper images, because of moovment when pushing the normal botton, in slow speed photos.

...don't suppose there any way for you to handle the conflict of the CSSU's app rotation setting being set to "forced" and rotating the camera?

...I have it set to forced to handle all the unfixable stock apps, but it then makes the camera UI a bit broken when I turn the phone

+1 on that. Nicolai, I'm working on mugen-cover-power ( ) ,i.e. cover with special features like hotswapping batteries on field during heavy load and special connector for telescopic trivet. Using that, we can make really awesome sharp photos, but only one way to use this advantage is to set timer. Option to take photos by proximity sensor/headset/bluetooth headset would be awesome.
