Yup, that's it. You summed up religion in a nutshell there!

That orientation thing is really important. A developer can't know as it seems how to show the app. He has to show it and then rearrange the widgets on screen based on the orientation. I'm not sure even if you can get the orientation without the user rotating the device.

now I'm not saying this is gospel, however we did see the gw990 sporting this screen resolution, albeit at 4.8 inches and other companies, like Acer are starting to use this format on smartphone/tablets too.

Certianly a great resolution for watchiing media on and since this is a speculation thread, I'm trying to do my bit to get that post count to 5000!
It isn't a great resolution for media, it is great for movies, but most other media is 16:9 and some is still 4:3. Do you really only watch movies on your phone? And even with movies you don't lose much when cropping to 16:9. And in general it is too wide in landscape and too tall in portrait. Personally if given the choice I'd opt for 16:10, I can live with 16:9, but I wouldn't bother with 21:9.

Short and fat actors will be in demand in the future

Well, if rumours are true, it will be officially announced next week.
So I don't mind it being so dead quiet if that was the case.
