uvatbc, great work. May I suggest you post all new updates/changes on the first post. It is difficult for others to really see what was added/edited when it is buried in thread this long..

Just a suggestion...

Updated. Also added a link to vote for qgvdial.
If you want it in extras, vote for it and get everyone else to vote for it as well!

Very nice!

I like the Tabbed front-page!
The Inbox is looking better; though I have three small complaints:
  • The text needs a little padding on the left and right.
  • a date of "Last week" seems too vague to be useful.
  • And I really would like to update my icons....

We need icons for the phone, the voice-mail and TEXTing.
In this previous blog, I gave three possibilities for each one. Did you have any preference??

Most of the arrows I used looks good on a PC; but the blue RECEIVED arrow and the deep red VOICE-MAIL arrow, just look too dark on a N900.

And I'm not thrilled with the blue-white TEXTing arrow.

Really just the green one, and the bright red MISSED-CALL arrow, looks good (to me).

So, I was going to keep the MISSED-CALL arrow, and make left-facing and right-facing GREEN arrows for SEND and RECEIVE.

Suggestions? agree...disagree?

New build!
UI updated and application icons changed. More changes coming soon.

UI is loosely based off the Meego dialer.

New build!
Finally made texting the way it ought to be.
qgvdial is not just for making calls - now, it shows entire SMS conversations and you can reply and continue the conversation.

The program crashes whenever I started kit. Maybe it is because I downloaded it with qgvnotify but now I cannot emove qgvnotify. Does qgvnotify affect tthe operation of qgvdial? If so, do you have a suggestion as to how I can completely remove qgcnotify? If not, can check to ensure that qgvdial functions well as expected?

Thanks.
apt-get remove --purge qgvnotify does not work.

1. Thats a bug in the qgvnotify remove script which is failing to terminate qgvnotify. I'll fix it in the next release of qgvnotify. For the moment, start xterm, run /opt/qgvdial/bin/qgvnotify and while it is running use fapman/ham to upgrade / remove / purge qgvnotify.
2. I've faced the problem of qgvdial failing after an upgrade - the only way I've been able to make forward progress is to move the cache database and let qgvdial make a new one.
So: Quit qgvdial (Ctrl+Q). Then in xterm, go to ~/.qgvdial
Code:
mv qgvdial.sqlite.db qgvdial.sqlite.db.save
Now restart qgvdial. It should work properly.
If it doesn't post me your log from that directory. Scrub first.

qgvdial icons finally show correctly on Application icon list, on the desktop icon as well as in the application manager (ham and fapman).
The inbox now has Meego icons.
