I had to reflash os2008 on my n810 and now I can't download a thing to install. Not even Skype. Is there a way to know if servers are currently down? Or is it just me?

Any tip with this problem im having? Everytime I install something, I get a downloading failure, can't install error message. This goes for any application currently out. I reflashed it numerous times. Am I just being unlucky here?

Is anyone not having this problem? I am really desperate at this point and can't figure out what to do.

I had problem with maemo.org debs not downloading right under os2007 but i doubt thats your problem since your using os2008

Yea, im downloading from maemo.org. In fact, just when I click on skype, it asks me to install. So I click ok, then it downloads the loader, installs loader, then asks me to download skype 4.5. I hit ok, it immediately fails. This happens for all apps.

Oh, then your probably not downloading deb your downloading installer. That means its probably something messed up with repository.

When it fails to install in app manager, open up tools/log menu and look for E lines (errors)

maybe delete that cache directory ?

Just shutdown all apps on nokia, dock over usb and delete it.

That didn't work, it now gives me a failed install. I checked the log again and it's saying that Can't create directory at /media/mmc2/.apt-archive-cache/: Read-only file system. How do I change the file system to write access?

I read another forum just a few minutes ago and clearing the device fixed it. I don't know why fixes it but it worked. Thanks for the help
