I hate posting negative comments, but sometimes we need to hear it.

Good to know I should never go to pjnews for any kind of news.

OTA updates are usually limited because of the Network Operators, not Nokia itself. Other than citing a completely unreliable source, the article didn't do anything but say "It's Nokia's fault that UK customers are not getting the updates, waa waa waa waa". Stewie from Family Guy couldn't have done a better job at being partial and transparent.

Seems like reporters forgot that the best way to write an article, is by not being biased in the first place. This is obviously a disgruntled 3 customer or something, and he needs to blow off some steam.

Is Nokia preventing the updates from reaching customers specifically in the UK? I don't think so. Is Nokia preventing customers from downloading the updates over the internet and doing the update manually? I don't think so. (please note that the two previous statements are completely unfunded and probably wrong, considering I'm not interested in Symbian, at all)

If I recall correctly, people who bought their N97 at the Carphone Warehouse were not able to update to V11, over a month after V12 was released. Now, I'm not a superhero, but it strike me as odd that it's personalised and custom versions of the phone that are encountering issues...

Also, this forum is about Maemo. We have nothing to do with how Nokia releases software updates to the Symbian phones. The platform is entirely different, I can't imagine this ever being an issue on Maemo. Please don't post to unrelated articles in the wrong section of the forum. If you wish to keep discussing this, I invite you to visit the "Off-Topic" section of the forum.
