Sorry if this has been asked before, but typing reboot plus various other terms into search doesn't find me the answer.

Does anyone know the difference between the root level "reboot" command you can type in x-terminal and the one that is executed when you enable "Reboot" in the power button menu?

The only things I've noticed is that the power button menu is: quicker, when the phone restarts I am not asked for my SIM card PIN and the handset sometimes makes a "doink" sound when restarting.

Are there known issues with the power button menu option which is why it was disabled by default? Maybe it restarts the handset in an unclean way.

osso-powerup-shutdown (power button menu) probably doesn't really reboot the whole device I guess. but don't know for sure.
