I use no-ip.com's dynamic DNS update client on my windows box at home to keep the DNS updated so that I can always connect to it.

Is there a way for the N900? They have a linux update client, however im not after porting it, just a script or something that uploads my IP to a server would do fine for me, but im not sure if this is the best solution or if someone has a different idea in mind.

Any method that would let me know my phones IP should I leave it at home for example, I can VNC to it and check messages/missed calls etc.

Whats the easiest way? Cheers guys

A further question before I try this.

I was thinking about smscon and how reverse ssh had to be used instead of ssh due to it being behind NAT.

I guess im going to run into this problem trying VNC over WAN (via GPRS)?

Hi guys,

I have found a python script here:

http://blog.hostonnet.com/python-scr...pdate-noip-com

and it works just great in my N900.

Now I have to figure it out how to run it with crontab.

I hope it will help. Thanks.

Hi here you have a link to a thread where it is discussed how to allow ICMP replies on N900 when connecting to GPRS (by default it is disabled):
