Is there a port of aptitude or apt that would include autoremove? When the size on disk usage goes up 5MB on an install, and removing only frees up 1.5MB - obviously there are dependencies that I no longer need.

I have similar problem. I tried to compile aptitude in scratchbox, but it's not as easy as i thought. I choosed the easier solution, i compiled deborphan which you can combine with apt-get to remove the unused packages, just use this code
Code:
apt-get remove $(deborphan --guess-all)
It could be smaller, but i don't have much experience in package building ... yet
