Is there a live cd of linux that contains the dev tools for developing for the 2006 OS? I know there was one for the 2005 version but I can't find a new one.

An alternative but similar idea would be for somebody to use a virtual machine (e.g. VmWare Internet Applience) and install the Maemo development environment on it. Then all any user need to do is doumload a fully functional, ready to go, maemo environment with no installation issues, no configuration issues, etc. It will just work everytime.
All the elements are available for free under OpenSource license.

One of these days I will just break and do it myself. But if anybody wants to pick this up that would be great.

Great idea. May be better to use MS Virtual PC 2004. It’s free now but don’t install/run any additional windows services like VmWare player.

I'm also interested in it, but the torrent file doesn't download, anyone can post a new torrent or link?
