I'm a Symbian/Blackberry/WinMo Expert/Addict but I've never used Linux in my life.

Now can people give me tips as to what the first things to do when I get my N900 are (hopefully friday) and post links to relevant articles?

P.S. I reallly can't find anything similar...

Any help would be great because I'm worried I'll probably f*** the phone up quickly by doing something lol (with BB/WinMo/Symbian I know how to fix it quickly so its ok but Linux/Maemo is brand new to me!)

1) Check the phone for defects.. e.g. it won't charge, the mic works (known problem), that you have all the space (should be 27 GBs of VFAT, 2 GBs of /opt, and say .7 GB for SWAP).

2) Enable Maemo extras for more application installation possibilities

3) add contacts and setup email and stuff

4) enjoy

Do the tutorial on the desktop and familiarize yourself with the interface. -Play around a while.
-Connect to a wifi router.
-log in to your skype/google talk/etc accounts.
-logging in to the skype/google talk/etc accounts adds them to your contacts.
-clean up your contacts
-call someone or sms someone
-browse the web
-add a news feed to the rss application
-open application manager and install some new applications

Just kidding about the fap, fap, fap, fap, fap, fap.
Really.
