I am missing the Messages application from my phone.

The icon is on my homescreen but when I click on it, nothing opens.

If I search for "Messages" and select the resulting icon for the application, again, nothing opens.

Looks like I somehow deleted it.

I couldn't find an answer in this forum.

Is there an easy way to restore this to my phone - please ??

Do you used some tweaking app, like N9QT ?
If yes, go to tweak X, and choose option 2 for restore to default..

Hi Shturman..

tweak X did not restore Messaging....

BUT....tweak R is the cause.

I restored emoticons to default size and...presto!

when I typed messaging-ui in terminal, the error mentioned emoticon.... so I reversed tweak R.

Thanks guys for the prompt suggestions...community help like this makes the N9 the best device for me

I'm very sure the OP didn't wait for refhashlist to complete the process in tweak R hence the issue and NOT tweak R having something wrong...
