Hi all

Is it possible to use 2/3G and a wifi internet connection at the same time on maemo or an alternative OS on the N900?
I want to ssh remote login into the N900 via a gprs connections and monitor a local wifi network using wireshark for example.

Sure, you just need to initiate the connection from the device side, since operator usually has a nat firewall which hides all the devices from internet.

What this means; ssh from your device to your box and set up reverse tunnel, and then ssh in the device thru that tunnel.

Quick reply...
Should be possible. It's no more complicated than having Wired Ethernet and Wireless WiFi at one laptop at the same time...
Ah, you mean that the GUI allows to enable only one Internet Connection at a time? Hmm... How will you tell your applications which one (grps or wlan) to use as Internet Source? Alright, you will need something in command-line with ifconfig gateways and route. gprs should function as 'local' connection (just one-to-one line) and WiFi should get Internet. Something similar should have existed for USB networking, already. SSH from laptop to phone while phone gets Internet over WiFi...
Good luck.
