good to know that it works. it gives me hope. did you have to do anything special to get it working? I can't actually get it to run in LXDE I get the errors...

There was an error setting up inter- process communications for KDE:
could not read network connection list.

however, I can launch it through debian chroot where it does at least launch but with errors:

Error: "/tmp/kde-user" is owned by uid 29999 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/tmp/ksocket-user" is owned by uid 29999 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/tmp/ksocket-user" is owned by uid 29999 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/tmp/kde-user" is owned by uid 29999 instead of uid 0.

then I cannot edit any files even newly created ones.

anybody know how I can start a fresh again with easy debian? I deleted my image and downloaded it again but it seems as if some things have remained.

I can't edit anything neither in Kile when launched by "debbie". I'm using Squeeze packages, Kile 2.1 Beta 4, and seems to work very well except for that "little" issue. In LXDE It looks a little weird, but I can write.
What's happening with debbie?

There are some problems with keyboard focus. Rebhana and qole found some workarounds. The debbie problem is discussed here:

with the workaround.

Thanks, that fixed it, but i have to Fn+Enter each time I change to other window. Not very annoying, anyway.
