they are now in extras-devel
for some unknown reason you have to
cd /usr/lib
ln -s libblas.so.3gf libblas.so
ln -s liblapack.so.3gf liblapack.so

I need to figure out why it doesn't hardcode the .so.3gf versions...

mypaint 0.8.0 is out now. You might consider working on that too at some point. I'm glad to hear you're working on this!

Could you post some screenshots showing NumPy and SciPy running on your N900?

?? numpy and scipy do not have GUI or something to show off. they work in the background. You install them from extras-devel.
Maybe you mean matplotlib, which is not ported yet?

@titan

I know they are only in shell. Just wondering a shot like numpy.__version__

By the way I can't get a result for numpy or numpy+scipy on my N900. Extras-devel is in enabled repos.

Any ideas?

Titan did you fix this. I think there is an issue between pygame and numpy. I had a few people trying to install maelophone and maesynth getting numpy errors when running.

There appears to be a dependancy failure with Pygame when numpy is installed. Pygame will default to using python-numeric for fast maths processing if numpy is NOT installed. If numpy is installed. eg when you install MyPaint. Then Pygame will try to use numpy iinstead.

This then leads to a Pygame failure as it appears that the version of numpy in the repos does not include numpy.core.numeric.

Anyone able to build this module, then we would have an uptodate version of Pygame for Pygame devs, as numpy is the newer lib compared to numeric.

the symlink issue should be fixed in the latest versions in extras-devel.
The bug was quite difficult to track down.

Is this package still available? I can't find it at the locations listed above, nor in Extras Devel, etc.
