Don't run anything that would start up rfcomm - minigpsd needs to do it:

1347 user 1884 SW /bin/sh /home/user/gpscon.sh
1348 user 1588 SW rfcomm connect 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

this blocks minigpsd from starting rfcomm to the GPS properly.

Did you try the built-in map application? Does it work?
