In great part ...this is payment ...Dave...
After century upon century of the wealthy countries preying on the weaker...invading...stripping them ..legislating their wealth away from them...manufacturing all our desired goods at slave labor wages....
Then funding their opponents ...and selling arms to both sides! Governments and terrorists, insurgents, opposition, and enemies....

Finally ...
The ugly ugly truth is coming to the rich countries ...
The payment is due...
And has been for some time now...
With ever increasing waves of people fleeing in mass migrations ...
Straight to the rich nations...

And damn right ....
All the rich countries that have for centuries profited from them....used them...preyed on them...
They better help these people..

It does not matter how high a wall is built..
Or methods used...

The implementation of any policy ...in any way....
of not helping our brothers and sisters...
is evil.
And will bite those nations that implement them.
No...
a policy of screening immigrants from select countries today...
will inevitably become a more invasive method of screening indigenous citizens to see if they should be expelled...
Such methods don't stop once started.
They just become more accepted and become more and more brutal and draconian in nature.

The wealthy nations who are small, self minded and that have forgotten just HOW they became wealthy in the first place...
that implement such policy...
Will eat themselves alive.

We have a choice to either bring those who need help...in..
and help them make their home countries safe and economically and ecologically viable again...

Or...

Let them stand outside the gates...
while their home countries descend into further chaos...
and the wealthy nations eat themselves alive...

It is not just a political or moral or ethical choice...
It is a choice between the sane and insane option

Either we... as one world...one voice ...
that works together to ease and make better the pain and hurt in it ...regardless whether as a species we fall...
knowing we were at our best...
vs..
a world that descends into darkness together.
