You can start by copying the original CSS file /usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/libmessagingwidgets0/style/libmessagingwidgets0.css to
/usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/libmessagingwidgets0/style/libmessagingwidgets0.css

Afterwards you can try to customize the copy.
