What is going on the pic links here on TMO? Looks like a link removal . But only after some time frame.
I could click the original link from pentona and robthebold in their original post. Now they are vanished but pics are still available on their original link location via the quoted posts of these two.
Does it have to do with https://forumfiles.com?
Did upload my entry there for testing:

BUT image tags eat the link it seems.

another test with IMG tags and mosushi.de

and dumb address 'mosushi.de ... _...'


which makes it clear to me:
urls that are not recognized as pictures (however there are pics behind!) just get deleted silently

So for, at least forumfiles -and probably other hosting platforms-, you do need to give the 'end link' directly pointing to the pic!
In my case:

And img got moved and link became changed to

So image dies not show above but now with New one below
