As wazd explained earlier in this thread it is a limitation of the theming capabilities. You can either have a gradient in the taskbar (cool) and that cosmetic error (cosmetic) or no gradient (bummer) and a cosmetically perfect gear

BTW, wazd, any chance of doing the lighter highlights in Marina? Or maybe fork it? Would love lighter highlights, lighter color when buttons / desktop icons are pressed and maybe call / end buttons.
