But ..
Have you considered an android phone as an alternative?
Because...your n900 appears to be doing everything it can to stop you from using it.
Have you two had a falling out?
Did you say something to it and hurt it's feelings?
Because I am sensing that it is mighty pissed off at you ...
And is getting back at you for something you did or said to it...

I think you need a "Maemo Whisperer"....
To calm it down...

all you have done is just post a couple of links...
No one has any idea exactly "what" problem you are having with your card slot...
if it is even a problem with the slot...
you could very well have a problem with your system identifying the card...
you could very well have a card that is faulty...

Are you using a card that is known to play well with the n900?

Have you looked at the list of "problem free card types for the n900" in the wiki?

Have you tried a few different cards in your n900?...
that you are certain work?...
just to narrow down the possible culprits and verify that the card slot "is" the problem...and not a faulty card?

Lotta questions need answers before just posting a vague "Help me! Something is wrong!"
