As far as I know, from reading previous discussions on this issue, it isn't possible to rename an account, so you should just create a new account with the new username.

There doesn't seem to be a user-accessible way to delete an account either, but if you ask a forum administrator, they may be able to delete your old account. One way to get their attention is to use the Report Post button in this very thread.
