So if you sign into Gmail.com and click Contacts, it's all gone?????

This would be a good reason to click the "Export" every once in a while : ) (From the Contacts page of Gmail.)

(Note for everyone reading: if you have never done this, do it now!! You'll never know when you might need it. Saves as excel doc. Save the document on your computer somewhere, or email it to yourself )
