Hi RevdKathy, from time to time it's nice to meet you here jumping in from the Meego bandwagon.

Code:

/home/user # iwconfig wlan0 mode master
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
    SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

so it looks like the (chip or driver) doesn't support it.

Perhaps somebody with more knowledge than me could jump in and shed all doubts.
