Prices are a little screwy here in the UK, and not in a good way.

Amazon yesterday were showing the N800 at £269. Today it's showing at £239.

That's probably the lowest UK price, but it's still not as cheap as the rest of the world. £239 is 343 Euros, or a comical US$488 -- around TWICE the price it costs in the United States. But the UK price includes taxes (VAT at 17.5%) and delivery.

Even weirder are Amazon's prices for the N770. I think I'm right in saying that Amazon is the last place in the UK selling N770s, or at least the last large retailer. Last week the N770 with Navigation Kit was £139. I bought one based on this price and am very happy . Now it's GONE UP to £169.

Britain is clearly the land that Nokia forgot.

To be honest, as great as it is, I don't think the N800 is worth £239 (343 Euros/$488). At that price, it's still in the "gadget freak" pricing zone.

But it's got to be said that the N770, as imperfect as it is, is perfect for me right now
