On and off this has been asked: I am running 2007He, which app should I install, 2007 vs 2006 or N800 vs 770?

There are several posts sugguest take the 2007 or the N800. I doubt there is any evidence to back up one way or the other, I think we just copy from each other (search it, I said that too in the past). After reviewing the list of apps, 99.99% apps are for 770 and 2006OS. Only videocenter that came out on 9/7/07 are 2007He and N800 installation, even then, one requires to install mplayer of 770 for it to work. Overall, my impression, this time back up with apps listed in this thread,

when installing apps, the 770 or 2006OS are the safe choice. 'Take a chance' if version 770 or 2006OS is NOT available. Some of them could do damage, micro B is an example. Most of them simply wont install. I think it is a good idea to have one person checking and the other follow suit, that is the whole idea of this thread.

Regarding update, I am pretty sure you already got an idea. Firstly, they may not be reflected from your app manager, I guess you are running 770 on a 2007He platform, secondly the update basically is for the N800, so not applicable, e.g., mplayer update listed as ...N800....., and maemo mapper update listed as 1.4.7-3, and both are for N800.
