I have searched the various sites and Google but cannot figure out why when I create an ad-hoc network on Ubuntu that simply merges my wired to the wireless card in ad-hoc mode.

My iPhone seems the network immediately, connects, gets an address via DHCP.

My Vista laptop also does the same.

Yet, my N810 doesn't even show the SSID in Wireless Connections, as if it doesn't even see it.

I realize I could probably connect via command line, but I would be amazed if you can't connect to Ad-Hoc via Network Manager.
