I have coded in C# for a lot of years on windows. I'm on my way to discovering new languages and platforms these days. Linux is full of great development tools (i dont get it why microsoft's .net had to be copied in-the-name-of-open-source, ms itself copies everything from others). I think you try things like python, its a great language. Than download QT's sdk and give c++ a try. Your programming wisdom will increase and you'll become a better and more serious dev imho. Since you are on the maemo forums and exploring stuff, I recommend putting C#/.net aside and you'll find a lot of "colorful" languages and "tasty" platforms to code on . Gud luck.
