I try those blue chars and I don't get anyting. Do I missing something if I try them with OK-button pressed?

see https://leste.maemo.org/Motorola_Droid_4 under notes:
  • sudo udevadm hwdb --update
  • sudo udevadm trigger
then you will get together with the OK-button: ~, \, ;, :, [, ], `, ESC, {, }, | an F1 to F10
