Thats what I thought too.

They have the following valid argument: With HTTP bad regimes can intercept traffic and block articles of specific events or topics. Think china blocking the Tian’anmen massacre or a strongly religious state banning sites on the theory of evolution. They can enforce this by blocking traffic to the https version of the site.

Still without a feasible way to filter traffic like this with TLS 1.1 (Its not yet that broken) I do not understand this latest step.

Seems like I have to set up a Squid Proxy over Christmas.
