Interesting bit from the updated Jolla Page for SailfishX:

13. The Android app support of Xperia X is based on version 4.4.4 now. Will you update the Android support of Xperia X devices?
With Android 8.1 app support we focus on the newest hardware (Xperia XA2 range), and currently we are not planning to deploy this solution backwards to older Xperia X models.
If this means there will be no update for the Xperia X's Android Layer or if there might be an update to e.g. Android 7 Compatiblity later on is not stated anywhere. The question was asked in the comments of the release blogpost, but looking at Jolla's communication approach in the past I'm sceptical that there will be any clear answer.
