Me ...well in my signature..I have 5 n900's ..
Firstly...
the no telephony is great at home or work...for wifi...so I pretty much use that...all the time..
I have it hooked up my flat screen and keyboard when at home...
as far as a daily driver goes...I have my (new) nexus 5
((and I do hope Leste runs flawlessly on it (eventually) ...since the hardware appears to be optimal for Leste....and it does have 4 times the ram..and may have almost zero problems running maemo / linux...so as to become my new daily maemo driver...for the time being it has stock 5.1 droid on it...I have been mulling putting plasma on it...since after sifting through enough bug pages and user posts in various alternative os forums...plasma appears to be the alternative os with the LEAST issues...that may change over time with developments in plasma and the other alternatives...but for now...plasma appears to be the only viable alternative that could do as a daily...IF I suffer the same probs that other plasma on nexus 5 users have suffered from....so we'll see if I take that plunge into plasma..))

Secondly...
I have one n900 with a loose usb...which I was considering selling...but may simply keep for future n900 parts..

Thirdly...
I have 3 n900's in excellent shape ...
One I consistently pull out and use frequently as a daily ...so as not to get too rusty...
the other 2 are tucked away...just in case...

Four...
I have 8 batteries for the n900 ..
2 in consistent use...
6 properly stored in a cool place...
and pulled out every so often to cycle them to keep them in good shape...

(and I won't even go into the number of n8x0's and batteries I have for them...since this topic is about the n900...)

I have a crank charger...
and ...
a couple solar chargers (solios and power monkeys...which are good as purely emergency ...since the trees around my home tend to shade the property..as well I am on the west side of a valley ..up the side of it in fact...so solar isn't an optimal option...
Neither is wind power for my location..
(I am sure would be useless if a nuclear winter were to come about..)

So far this year (since Jan 1st ..that is...) the electricity to the island has failed due to storm damage ...about a dozen times...
and it takes a good day to have it reestablished ...
So all my current alternative heating and emergency electricity alternatives have been very handy indeed...
(Not to mention...it is rather nice to just sit in the darkness during an outage...with a couple of oil lamps..on the desk..listening to some nice classical music or old time radio stories on my nxx0's ...while sitting in a comfy chair by the fire...)

As well...
The stream flowing downhill though my property to the pond and through the dam and beyond to the lake-let below...runs quite fast and hard from September to June of the next year..before the rainy season is done...
It puts out more than enough gpm / lpm with more than enough downhill grade to increase the force of the output...
that I have been advised that I should set up a pelton wheel system...
Since it would provide me with enough electricity to power my home..( a rarity to have such luck..)...and enough residual electricity that it would be sold back to the provincial power corp. at a small profit...
which would be negated by the fact I would need electricity anyway ...in the dry summer months..
Not bad though....

If bombs were to drop...
Most likely the naval base in washington state is an obvious target...
Pretty close..but I think far enough away for where I am I do not need to worry about blast radius...
Not to mention as I said...
I live on the west side of a valley...any blast ..even close by...would pass over me ...rather than hit me...
There is the whole rest of the island behind and above my property to take the force of a blast from a nuclear bomb going off on the continent...
Depending on wind currents however...
THAT would be different.
I do not have a bomb shelter.
and since the area here is hilly and treed ...it would be a serious pain to try and dig one...so many tree roots...and so many other factors...
But ...who knows...I may come up with a solution that is viable ..on that front...
But frankly ...surviving a world ending nuclear conflict...I don't particularly savor ...
If it were to come about...and depending on the impact to local environments here...and many other factors..
I would consider quick and painless end-of-life options...

I would not wish the nightmare of months or years in a box ...waiting for food to run out, or waiting to get ill where a doctor or surgeon or medicines I could not get to...happens...
I wouldn't have a problem with the isolation..
But watching the flora and fauna die around me ...would be too much to take...
Nor the desire to pop iodine tablets like tic tacs for the rest of my life...
and still get radiation sickness ...etc...
No...a nuclear winter I would not wish to try to survive through...
Better to exit while still healthy and able ...with memories of how lovely the world was...
Than linger longer like the guest at a party that is winding down..

So anyway...
I think for pretty much everything ...
I am prepared...
except for the bomb shelter..

Only though you have plenty of n900 and I only have one, your group of n900 are still located in the same area. A simple EMP can destroy all at once.

Would it be possible to have them at several location you would have a better chance to survive as a n900.
