Come on, not this misinterpretation again...

Intex Aqua Fish is a heavily subsidized device (by Snapdeal and others) and includes advertisements right in the system in the form of Super Apps (formerly known as Partner Space).

Jolla C is slightly modified (screen protector, different back cover and packaging) and has different OS without any advertisement. So not just no subsidy, but also making these differentiations on such a small scale (~1500 devices) is naturally more expensive than doing in on Intex's scale. Jolla C's price is 136€ (which is not "more than double", by the way) including worldwide shipping and Jolla has previously claimed that they make no profit on it. Plus its price includes different developer programs and future learning courses.

That being said, the eBay way of selling it, especially over the weekend, is more than fishy and until proven otherwise, I'll assume it is not a good news for SailfishOS in India.

EDIT: What's actually great about Jolla C being released is that there is now a drop in solution for importing Intex Aqua Fish devices to Europe and the rest of the world. We should be able to make a dd copy of Jolla C's internal system and flash it on Aqua Fish, getting rid of ads and all Intex modifications. So you're welcome everybody, we paid "less than double" the price so you can enjoy a cheaper alternative
