Re: mmcblk0 (internal flash) problems, and worse?
This is definitely the one I came across. I *reformatted*, not re-partitioned, and then the partition seemed ok (the file system partition was then smaller than the device). At least I didn't see...

mmcblk0 (internal flash) problems, and worse?
Over the last few days, I've had my beloved N810 start acting *really* wonky.
It started out where I'd get sudden crashes (like opening the keyboard, or just picking it up). I remotely logged in,...

Re: Wifi calls in poor coverage areas possible?
Definitely check out Google voice -- I use it at work, where I have relatively poor Cellular coverage, and have Google Voice include my office number (during weekdays, working hours).....

Re: N900 not coming to United States anytime soon
Aw, let's just continue to whine that the carrier subsidized phone is "hobbled" to ... the carrier.
Choke up the cash for the non-carrier-subsidized version, and you don't get the lock down (or,...

Tokyo appears to be missing as well (Yokohama works, though). I checked with some friends, they report that the city is still there, and doing well ....

Re: Sip Authentication failed on Diablo
I've had Gizmo up and running from the N810 pretty well. I thought it was maybe a Ekiga problem -- but I also have fine connectivity to Ekiga via a desktop that is sitting on the same NAT'd network...

Re: SSH unusable with WPA2 PSK ON
? I've been using SSH (the openssh package) and WPA-PSK since the first day I got my N810 (ok, maybe it was the 2nd day) -- no problems.
Run the ssh (either to or from the N8x0) with the "-v" flag...

Re: Podcasting: New gPodder version / MP3 woes?
thp; Thanks for your help -- I appreciate you taking the time to answer my trivial question.
Beware, though, the gPodderWiki gives some slightly misleading advice. In the 'Options related to...

Re: Podcasting: New gPodder version / MP3 woes?
Actually, I looked at Panucci -- but all it talked about were MP3s -- obviously I'm looking a quite a few "vidcasts", and a single (audio) podcast. My presumption was that it doesn't do Video. ...

Re: Podcasting: New gPodder version / MP3 woes?
I'm wondering if I'm missing something here. I've setup things so that mplayer is used, but find that any MP3-based (probably any non-video based) Podcast now claims "The selected application cannot...

Re: Some application questions about the N810
Canola is another, but not very good, option for podcasts.
Video Center, for all its warts, does a passable job. It's prone to bizarre failures, and losing files, but periodic cleanings help....

Re: Why are the 3rd party apps not being updated?
'cept even "Internet Call" doesn't work (broke about a year ago for me, hasn't worked since an update last summer). "Ekiga" agent works just fine from my desktop meters away, but "IC" wont talk to...

From /sys/class/leds/keyboard files:

The file "uevent" is a write-only file -- I...

Re: btscanner binary or repo
yeah, that's pretty much what I saw.
I also tried using "infocmp" to uncompile the xterm terminfo entry, and changing it to a 52x12 parameter, then renaming it to "xterm-small", using tic(1) to...

Re: btscanner binary or repo
I just seem to be missing a termcap/terminfo database (for anything, really -- a "find /" turns up nothing). Am I missing something obvious here?
Everything is a "error opening terminal: " (xterm...
