Re: What happened to Sailfish Watch?

AsteroidOS looks really promising. Is there any support for SFOS (yet)? Does it work well? Sadly it's about time I start to look for a replacement for my Pebble.

Re: Sailfish Devices in The United States

There havn't been devices with SFOS preinstalled for a long time (in fact, the Jolla 1 was the one and only). After that, there was only the Aqua Fish which was available only in India and the few...

Re: Situations app - bugs, questions, answers, help etc..

Is there a possibility to start Situations on boot? I recently noticed that this is not the case by default (as far as I know, this is because Apps with auto-start are not allowed into the Jolla...

Re: Rostelecom investment in Jolla

I brought this topic into the last Community Meeting. As expected, Jolla can't really comment on these speculations, since they are only speculations (what can they really say about it?). But James...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

As far as I know, they changed that again due to heavy criticism. You can now contact the conductor as soon as possible (best before the train leaves the station) who then sells you a ticket (being...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

I'm totally with you regarding the desire for reproducible builds and having access to the code. But the FOSS world is not what I had in mind when posting my last post, as you rarely are forced to...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

I ask on the last Community meeting on Thursday if they are going to update AlienDalvik to support newer Android versions or if they plan to switch to another runtime. Here are the quotes from the...

Re: Rostelecom investment in Jolla

That is the big elephant in the room after this deal. The thing is: no one can tell by now.
From a technical point of view, Jolla's licensing model allows it's partners to access the SFOS source...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

It all depends on how Jolla implements the Android support in the future releases. If they stick to AlienDalvik, we will be stuck on 4.4 forever since Dalvik was replaced by ART starting with Android...

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Thanks for pointing out another option. I never used zram before, the way I understand it is that it extends the available memory by compressing all tables in /dev/zram0 and storing them in the RAM...

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Successfully updated from 2.1.3.7 to 2.1.4.13 on my XperiaX. Everything seems to work fine (including Patchmanager). Only warehouse which was removed during the update, but that was to be expected.

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Seems like Jolla pulled the update for now, the thread on TJC is currently unavailable. They probably want to sort out some of the issues found here (after all, that is what an EA is there for)...

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

I also couldn't update rockpool via warehouse, it always told me that there is a problem with dependencies. Maybe this is also the reason Warehouse did not listed 1.4.0 in the Update view.

I then...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

The main issue here is not messing up partition 51 or 52, I agree with you that those can be (more or less) restored easily. Another option here could be to reflash the whole image (or even restore...
