Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

Not questioning, just curious :D

edit to explain myself: I've worked with embedded systems and low power budgets myself, so I know what a difference this kind of thing can make - I'm definitely...

Re: SailfishOS bugs and glitches

OK, so the perl and bash sleep functions aren't built to wake the system from deep suspend.

As I asked in the other thread: Powertop suggests enabling Power Aware CPU scheduler, echo '1' >...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

Now, when the system has been idling for a while with tohd running, a 20 second (nominally) powertop run reports a power consumption of 955 mW, whereas the same without tohd reports 70 mW. In...

Exclamation Re: SailfishOS bugs and glitches

There's definitely something funny going on with timers, as the command-line sleep utility seems to sleep much longer than intended, especially if the device is saving power. Verifying with perl...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

Another report, battery now at 70%, IOW 30% gone after 7 hours (since 13:01 local time). This is a great improvement.

I think I will leave tohd.service disabled until there's an update that...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

25% in five hours, as opposed to 50% previously. Yes, this did have an effect.

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

Update: at 16:16, having idled until now, the battery is still at 79%. The phone was a bit slow to wake up, maybe it entered a deeper sleep mode?

Re: Wifi connection to wpa2 ttls pap network

I can see that. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind it so much, but the eduroam login is keyed to a lot of other things as well, so I'd prefer to be asked every time. Is that an option?

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

BTW, if the custom ambience algorithm could be made with a slightly better contrast, especially the sent text in the message app, the screen brightness could be kept low.

Oh, and it's 15:52, and...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

Some results.

The LED started flashing at 13:01 local time indicating a full battery, at which time I disconnected the charger. It is 15:40 as of this writing, and the display says 80%. Usage has...

Re: Wifi connection to wpa2 ttls pap network

Does this have to contain the plaintext password? I'm not really comfortable with the idea of saving my university password in a plaintext file on my phone.

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

I disabled tohd as described in the comments (systemctl mask tohd.service; systemctl stop tohd.service) since I only have one Other Half anyway :)

I'm now charging the battery to full, let's see...

Re: Jolla device in a boot loop

OK. So far I haven't had to kill stuck processes - although my Jolla has shown the "Unnamed app is not responding" message a few times, so it has some kind of a watchdog. The last time was when I had...

Re: Jolla device in a boot loop

Okay... if removing the battery while the device is on can corrupt the filesystem, what happens if a butterfinger like me drops the device so that the battery flies off? Or If a butterfinger like me...

Re: Jolla device in a boot loop

If it's true that the device cannot start up a charge from flat, it's quite a serious bug and needs to be addressed. Given its current power consumption, the battery can easily go flat rather...

Re: [Work in Progress] CuteSpotify for Sailfish

Ah, and I downgraded a couple of months ago because I didn't find a use for the premium account... Thanks. The app could give some feedback about this.
