How can i unmute the Mic of my N810?

I want to access the Mic device by using the /dev/dsptask/pcm_rec device file but when i enter:

cat /dev/dsptask/pcm_rec > output.pcm

in a terminal, the resulting file is empty.

No, ext3 is the wrong choice.

This is a flash memory device, so you should better use JFFS2.
