I dont want the phone sending out any GSM signals and to be as low power as possible when in standby mode. Is there a way to disable the mobile transmitter from kernel? but keep wifi alive

Desire Z it is! since im only stuck with the phone for a few months, and ill just be mostly texting anyway (keyboard) it will give me a peak at the android world while nokia QT SDK matures then...

Luckily for me, although the LCD was cracked the resistive touch seemed to work ok still, so did it on the TV :D backup complete. cheers everyone
